Browser Vision Lab
Use a current desktop browser capable of WebAssembly, Web Workers, image decoding and the canvas APIs used by the application. The reviewed version was checked in Google Chrome 155; a complete supported-browser or mobile-device list has not been established.
| Item | Current behavior |
|---|---|
| Computation | Browser OpenCV.js/WASM worker; one active job at a time |
| Public Lab input | Browser-decodable image files, including PNG/JPEG/WebP; encoded file at most 24 MiB |
| Large public Lab images | Images above 4 × 1024 × 1024 pixels are scaled down; phone orientation is applied; the coordinate mapping records scale |
| Research local input | Different strict PNG path: 8-bit gray/RGB/opaque RGBA, at most 4 Mi pixels; rejects animation, orientation/custom color metadata and unsupported transparency |
| Browser output | Development result, not server or production acceptance |
| Hardware | No camera, capture card, PLC or Windows service required for Lab image trials |
A browser can reject a particular format even if its extension is common. Convert a copy of the image explicitly if needed, and keep the original for measurement or acceptance. Do not equate a resized Lab image with untouched camera pixels.
No universal RAM, CPU, latency or accuracy guarantee is established. Large graphs and images consume browser memory; close other heavy tabs if initialization fails. Public Lab mobile usability remains a product qualification item.
Windows runtime
The installer enforces a Windows version minimum of 10.0. Use the Windows edition and runtime package specified by the supplied release; that installer check is not a complete OS support matrix. The default desktop project targets .NET Framework 4.8 and x86. The task service and image writer use the modern .NET stack; packaging publishes the corresponding Windows runtime components. The embedded React workbench requires Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime.
The camera backend requires the correct licensed vendor components and a reachable supported camera. Classic iSDK and Vision Suite Web SDK are distinct integration paths. The reviewed version includes existing 8405 Classic and 3805 Web paths; this does not qualify every device in either family.
Do not derive a supported Windows edition, minimum RAM, maximum camera count or industrial cycle-time promise from framework target names. Confirm those values in the final release/site checklist.
