Installation and configuration

Browser Lab

The hosted public Lab opens in a browser. There is no Windows installer for this route and no camera driver to configure. The entry form and signed access cookie gate the hosted application. Clearing cookies can require completing the entry process again.

These pages are documentation only, not an offline distribution of the Lab engine or vendor SDKs.

Before installing the Windows workbench

Ask the supplier for the intended package version, hash/manifest, camera/firmware coverage, SDK licensing and any pending acceptance items. Do not use an arbitrary development output or an SDK probe as the production application.

Before an upgrade, stop work at a controlled point. Reconcile unknown requests and preserve recovery materials. Record the current package identity, configured data root and instance. Back up the complete relevant data and configuration to a new destination; do not overwrite the previous backup.

Install and launch

  1. Use the supplied installer under the intended Windows account. The documented default installation is per-user under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\DeYiVision.
  2. Check that the package contains the desktop, matching task service, image writer and web workbench assets. Do not mix files from different release directories.
  3. Ensure WebView2 Runtime is available. A blank embedded workbench can indicate a missing runtime or missing/mismatched web assets.
  4. Keep remote access disabled while verifying local operation. The installer supports Disable remote (internet) access for this installation where that option is included by the release.
  5. Start the application and confirm package version, instance and data root against the release information supplied with the package. First validate an offline or simulated image task.

The ordinary installer is per-user and does not install a Windows background service, firewall rule or scheduled task. The component called the task service is managed by the application; its name does not imply Windows Service registration.

Configure cameras

Open the camera settings from the desktop. Create or select the intended camera entry, give it a useful name and enter the approved address and account. If discovery is included in the package, it can list devices on local interfaces. Discovery may not cross a router. A manual address remains available.

Using or adding a discovered device changes the settings copy. Save applies the configuration; cancel leaves the original configuration. Verify address/port and credentials before connecting. Do not copy an address from a historical test report.

Credentials are protected for the current Windows user with DPAPI. Moving configuration to another user or computer requires re-entering credentials. A decryption warning must be investigated; do not silently replace the original configuration.

Data and image output

The task data root can be selected by DEYIVISION_TUNING_DATA; otherwise the application resolves its per-user default and device/simulation scope. Confirm the actual root in the running instance. Camera configuration and its backup are separate from the task databases.

Choose the user image-save path and desired original/result and OK/NG options in camera settings. Verify the location is writable and has sufficient space. User image files and internal task/recovery evidence are separate data domains; backing up one does not back up the other.

Confirm local readiness

Confirm the workbench reaches its matching service, the intended configuration persists, an offline task runs, and its revision/result can be read back. A camera list alone is not evidence of connection, and a successful local screen is not evidence of remote access or full installation acceptance.
